Owner Cited After Dogs Attack Woman

TENNESSEE -- People who live in the 500 block of Alston near Mississippi Boulevard are breathing a sigh of relief after a pack of dogs they claim were attacking people were taken by Memphis Animal Services.

According to Memphis Police the four dogs attacked a woman while she was walking to work down Alston Wednesday morning.

Gerald Ogelsby said he heard screams coming from the woman and then ran to help.

“I mean, it was like you knew something was wrong. We ran out and looked and the dog was attacking this lady. At that time they had bit her so much, they had so many bite marks on her legs, on her calves and on her legs,” said Ogelsby.

Memphis Animal Services came and took the dogs.

The owner, Jonathan Eli, was cited and is due in court on August 28th.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
