Ashland dogs could be put down after mauling cat

VIRGINIA -- Two dogs in Hanover face an uncertain future.

Their owners are facing dangerous animal charges, and a conviction could result in the dogs being put down.

This comes after a family's cat was mauled-to-death in June. The cat's owner says the dogs cornered her pet outside their Ashland home and attacked.

Animal control has taken custody of the dogs. One of the owners insists  his pet wasn't involved.
A hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
