TEXAS -- Thanks to the help of a concerned citizen, a recent case of apparent animal cruelty has been turned around, resulting in a good ending for a boxer named Nila.
Nila was found four weeks ago, chained to a broken trampoline, emaciated and weak. A concerned citizen called Animal Control, who then went and picked her up.
In a month's time, Nila has gained 15 pounds, been vaccinated and is now healthy. A shelter in Austin will take her and try to find her a home.
"She will be going to Austin Boxer Rescue, and this is one of the good outcomes, and we're really thrilled for her," Animal Control Officer Erma Ibarra said.
The case itself, of animal cruelty, is currently under investigation.
