CALIFORNIA -- Lilly Westcott and her daughter were taking their Yorkie Terrier Pepper for a walk Friday at the Rheem Shopping Center in Moraga when another dog attacked and killed Pepper.
Wescott, in a board post on Lamorinda Patch, said they failed to get any information from the owner of the other dog, which appeared to be a German Shepard breed, in their haste to get Pepper to the vet. Pepper died of his wounds from the attack.
Wescott contacted Contra Costa County Animal Control, which advised her to find the owner so they can advise the owner to get the dog the proper training, such as using a different collar, receiving aggression training and other precautions.
"Our sweet little Yorkie "Pepper" tragically died on what should have been a fun and safe walk," Wescott said in her post.
The German Shepard dog owner was described as a young woman with dark hair, wearing a Campolindo High Senior t-shirt.
