Owner of Pit Bulls That Attacked Couple Apologizes

OHIO -- The man who owned two pit bulls that attacked a couple on the city's east side is apologizing.

Both dogs were shot and killed by Columbus police Friday evening following the attack on Lilley Avenue near East Rich Street.

Justin Pache says his two pit bulls jumped his fence.

"The only thing I can do is apologize and tell them we're sorry and other than that I'm really at a loss for words," said Pache.

Pache wasn't home but at work when a man and woman were attacked on their way to a doctor's appointment.

"They tried to get the dogs to stop fighting the dogs just attacked them," said Linda Gray.

One was bitten on the hand, the other on the leg and remained in stable condition.

Pache could face criminal charges including having no dog license or rabies tags, dogs running loose and dangerous dogs.
