Two arrested on animal cruelty charges

NEW YORK -- Hudson Police have arrested the two people they believe owned the dog found emaciated and tied to a fence last week.

Juan Cintron, 42, and Brittany Pinnell, 22, both of Hudson, were arraigned on aggravated animal cruelty charges.

When authorities found the pit bull mix last Friday, it was tied to fence by a foot of rope near the Amtrak Station in desperate need of medical care. It weighed 25 pounds, not even a third of what it should. It remains in the care of the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.

Both Cintron and Pinnell were remanded to Columbia County Jail. They're due back in court Thursday.
