MICHIGAN -- Flint police were forced to use deadly force against a loose pit bull after it attacked a 58-year-old man, according to a police report.
Police said they responded to the 100 block of Flint Park Boulevard on Thursday, Nov. 14, around 7:15 p.m. in reference to a man being attacked by a pit bull.
When police arrived, they found the 58-year-old man lying on the ground being attacked by the dog.
The dog was also attacking another person who was trying to fend off the animal with a metal pole, police said.
According to the report, the pit bull aggressively charged the officers who responded by using deadly force. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, and was later listed in critical condition due to unrelated medical issues.
Police said the owner of the pit bull was deceased, and no care taker for the animal could be found.
