UNITED KINGDOM -- The 15-year-old was seen on his knees and witnesses said he appeared to be aroused, a judge has been told.
When he realised he had been spotted, the teenager wiped his stomach with his T-shirt then zipped up his jeans and fled, the court heard.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is said to have run away from the scene on Hungerford Common in Berkshire on October 14th last year.
Victoria Griffiths, prosecuting, told the youth court sitting in Reading Magistrates Court, that women at the scene described the boy "having sex with a dog".
She told the hearing: "All three ladies saw a Labrador and a boy who had hold of a dog lead. What they describe individually is that he was having sex with the dog.
She added: There is forensic evidence which relates to the boxer shorts he was wearing on the day in question, which were found to have blood (on them)," she said.
"This was analysed and found to have come from the dog."
Ms Griffiths told the court that a vetinary surgery claimed the dog was unharmed.
The youth denies sexual penetration with a living animal and doing an act which outraged public decency.
One witness, who stood 20 yards away from the boy at the time of the alleged offence, told the court she first thought it was two people having sex.
She told the hearing: "He was kneeling and the best way I can describe it as the dog was in a missionary position."
She said she was "confused and then horrified" when she realised it was a dog. "He had his trousers around his hips. He appeared to be aroused, " she said.
When asked by prosecutors what the boy was doing, she told the court: "It was a rhythmic movement - back and forth. The whole episode was about five minutes."
She then said she saw the same boy on the common the next day and informed the police.
Another witness to the alleged attack, Agniszka Fyele-Sapinska, said she felt "sick to her stomach".
After walking back from a children's playground, she said she first saw him on his knees with the dog.
"He was a bit bigger than normal. He was having difficulty zipping up that area. I felt horrible, sick to my stomach. I couldn't believe something like that happened. I would rather not have seen it."
The case continues.
