TEXAS -- For the second time this week, Fort Worth police have shot a dog that was attacking a man.
The attack was reported to police at 1:03 a.m. Friday in the 3800 block of Avenue M, where a man was being attacked by three pit bull mixes, said Capt. Charles Ramirez, a Fort Worth Police Department spokesman.
When officers arrived, an officer shot one of the three dogs. The man suffered injuries, but they were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital but was not immediately identified.
The other two dogs were taken away by Fort Worth animal care and control officers, Ramirez said.
On Tuesday, a 45-year-old Fort Worth man, Ignacio Meza, was attacked by three pit bull mixes.
Police fatally shot all three dogs; they did not have rabies.
Meza was hospitalized for his injuries and his boxer mastiff, which fled following the attack, has not been found.
His daughter also suffered injuries in the attack but was not hospitalized.
