Marcia England, Snowden's longtime friend, said she received a message via an operator Tuesday evening, interpreting a message from Snowden. Snowden is hearing impaired.
"It was a very short message that said, 'Please come, I've been bit by three dogs and it's bad.' That's all she get out before I said, 'Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can," England said.
England said she didn't realized how bad Snowden's injuries were, until she arrived at her friend's home.
"When I got there, and I saw there was a big puddle of blood in the kitchen and she was sitting in the bathtub, hanging in the bathtub with trying to wash the blood off of her legs and stuff, I said, 'Don't move, I'll be right back' and that's when I went to the phone and called," England said.
Snowden suffered injuries to her thighs, shin, hand and buttocks, she's received several stitches and is now under the watchful care of her friends.
"She's doing very well she's resting taking her antibiotic and her pain medicine, just relaxing," Snowden said.
Police say the attack happened in front of Snowden's Titusville home as she was checking the mail.
Investigators say a neighbors' mixed breed dogs managed to get loose and attacked her, Animal Services took custody of all three dogs and the owners were fined and cited.
"If it had been a younger person or even a child walking the street they might not have made it," England said.
But most of all, England's just relieved her friend of 40 years will be okay
"She's helped raise all my kids, she's more than a friend," England said.
Animal Services says if the dog owner decides not to have the dogs put down, a committee will hold a dangerous dog hearing to determine their fate.
