Chambersburg Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges, Cruelty to Animals

PENNSYLVANIA --  A Chambersburg man is behind bars after investigators say child pornography was found linked to his Facebook account. When investigators went to search for further evidence at the home, a dead animal was found inside.

It all started on Feb. 6, 2014 when the Cumberland County District Attorney's office received a case referral from Delaware County involving a cyber tip for child pornography.
Larvene V. Wilson, 67

The tip came from a Facebook employee, who during the course of their day discovered a Facebook user had uploaded potential child porn to their account. As standard procedure, Facebook forwarded the information to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a law enforcement resource related to child porn.

A search warrant requesting subscriber information for the IP address of the Facebook account holder determined that the suspect lived at 380 Tolbert Ave. in Chambersburg. The resident was identified as Larvene V. Wilson.

Days later on Feb. 12, the Chambersburg Police Department executed a search warrant at the home. Wilson's computer and other items were collected as evidence.

Police also contacted the Humane Society after discovering numerous unhealthy and one dead animal inside the home. Multiple animals were removed from the house.

Wilson was taken into custody at his home, and is charged with one count of felony child pornography under the sexual abuse of children statute. Additional counts of child pornography are expected to be filed as a result of the evidence collected during the search warrant. Charges are also expected to be filed against Wilson for cruelty of animals.

He's currently being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
