TEXAS -- Killeen's Animal Control Manager, who had been on paid administrative leave since October of last year, was fired Wednesday.
Stacie Sherva was accused of violating department policy related to the management of personnel and the proper care of animals.
Police Chief Dennis Baldwin said in a statement an internal investigation sustained the violations pertaining to "Neglect of Duty concerning the substandard management of employees and the lack of care and treatment of animals under the shelter's care."
The statement went on to say the search of Sherva's replacement will begin immediately.
