Wisconsin sending their aggressive pit bulls South

"Pit bull won't be euthanized, traveling to new home"

MICHIGAN -- A pit bull mix who was originally set to be euthanized after she bit someone, now has a different ending: she is now on her way to a new home.

The pit bull mix, Roxy, bit a passerby last summer and was set to be euthanized per order of the Dickinson County court system and the Iron Mountain City dog ordinance. But after a petition to save her went international, the courts and city council in Iron Mountain examined her case. The city council re-worded some of the dog ordinance language to give more lenience to the judge, and an agreement was reached in Roxy’s case.

“The agreement was that she has to be out of the state, she has to be into an approved rescue, and temperament-tested by them, and then she can be adopted out into a home,” said supporter Emily Ritsema. “She is waiting in Wisconsin for a couple days until she meets her professional transporter who's going to take her the rest of the way for her journey.”

[When this dog attacks someone else, I hope they find out that it was dumped into their community from Wisconsin and I hope they get an attorney to sue Iron Mountain for millions of dollars. Is it any different than putting convicted child molesters on a bus with a one-way ticket to your community?]

The Lexus Project helped Roxy supporters in their endeavor to find her a new home. Local supporters drove Roxy part of the way to her new rescue home. They say, however, they are unable to release the exact location where Roxy is to be brought, but that it will be in the southern part of the country.
