A group of children found a dog on fire Thursday morning, and if it wasn't for a volunteer animal rescuer driving by, it probably would have died.
The dog suffered serious burns and the Hardee Animal Rescue Team (HART) has taken it in for treatment. They've named her Hope.
Investigators say Hope was lit on fire by her owner in Arcadia. No charges have been filed yet.
Hope is doing well, considering the extent of her injuries. She was bandaged up, and she's even able to wag her tail.
The fire marshal is still investigating the incident.
If you'd like to donate to help Hope's recovery, you can send them to HART. Here is their website: http://hardeeanimalrescueteam.weebly.com/
