ILLINOIS -- A Williamson County woman will spend 30 weekends in jail for a 2010 dog attack that injured a young boy.
Tanya Holland, 49, was sentenced Friday in Williamson County court. She had previously pleaded guilty to one count of reckless misconduct. She'll serve 30 months probation after her jail time, and she will not be allowed to own a dog during that time.
Authorities said Holland was the owner of two pit bull mixes that attacked a five-year-old at Bush Village Park in August 2010.
The boy suffered severe bites to his head, face and legs. His mother also suffered injuries while trying to fight off the dogs.
According to authorities, Holland knew the dogs had violent tendencies and still allowed them to run loose. Both animals were put down after the attack.
