Puppy Attacked by Neighbor's Pit Bulls Twice in a Week

OHIO -- An East Columbus woman says her puppy was attacked twice by pit bulls living next door, the most recent attack putting him in a veterinary hospital.

Fran Benson says her 13-week-old puppy Bentlee was roughed up by the dogs a week ago, then this past weekend one of the dogs jumped the fence and attacked again.

"I turn my back like two seconds and they're over the fence again at him, just shaking him like a rag doll."

Bentlee has deep wounds on his neck and his groin, and veterinarians tell Benson the puppy is lucky to be alive.

The pit bulls' owner told ABC6/FOX28 her dogs don't like the neighbors, and it was a simple mistake.

More than half a dozen pit bulls live here.

But Benson says the owner doesn't control the dogs, and with seven pit bulls living next door she's worried.

The pit bull that attacked the puppy was put down by animal control, and the owner was cited for having five unlicensed dogs at her house.
