Franklin woman faces animal cruelty charge

NEW HAMPSHIRE -- A Franklin woman turned herself in on a warrant to Sanbornton police on Saturday and has been charged with cruelty to animals as police allege she did not properly care for a horse, which was later euthanized due to poor health.

Maryska Giunta, 57, of Lakeshore Drive, Franklin, has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals, a Class B misdemeanor.

The charge, according to police, stems from Giunta negligently failing to provide necessary care and sustenance to her horse.
