Lynchburg Police Help Save Dog from Drowning

VIRGINIA -- A close call on Sunday for a man who had to jump into Ivy Creek Pond in Lynchburg after his dog started drowning.

According to the police department's Facebook page, they say the dog, named Major, chased some geese into the water and the dog's owner frantically jumped in after him.

But the owner got exhausted from the swim, so another man jumped in to rescue him!

The dog owner did get taken to the hospital but is in stable condition.

Major was also rescued and hung out with officers, as you can see, until a family member came to pick him up.
