FLORIDA -- A woman from Marion County is accused of shooting a cat.
Deputies said Sherry Wilemon, 66, has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Wilemon shot and killed one of her neighbor's cat with a pellet rifle around 10:45 p.m. Monday.
A witness told the Sheriff's Office the suspect shot the animal two times and left it to die in a driveway because cats got into her trash.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspect's son buried the cat in the backyard. Deputies took Wilemon to the Marion County Jail.
