Twenty-two year old Samantha Jordan of Oklahoma is being charged with animal cruelty.
Lt. Matt Parrish said officers were called out to Wal-Mart in reference to a dog being left in a car.
"Witnesses said the dog was in there for a while before we showed up," Parrish said. " When animal control got there the car temperature read 127 degrees. The outside read 94 degrees."
Parrish said once officers got in the vehicle they found the dog panting heavily and lying down exhausted.
Parrish said officers were on scene for 18 minutes before Jordan came out of the store.
"Jordan told us she was unaware of the animal laws for the area," Parish said.
