WISCONSIN -- EDITOR: Pit bull owners, you can whine all you want about the unfairness of banning your chosen breed of dog, but the fact remains that, according to studies, pit bulls are 6 percent of the dog population and are responsible for approximately 68 percent of dog attacks!
Predictably, pit bull owners are blaming “irresponsible dog owners.” Do we really think they will become responsible because we beg them to? So should Wausau ban pit bulls or just ban irresponsible owners?
Unfortunately, identifying the latter will require more attacks, injuries and possibly deaths. Maybe the next victim will be a small child instead of a Chihuahua.
