"Oh he's just playing!" - Pit bull gets worked up 'horse playing', attacks its entire family

LOUISIANA -- Four people were injured last night after a family dog attacked its owners.

According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of a pit bull actively attacking people at a home on Smart Park Lane in Carencro.

While deputies were en route, they were advised that someone had shot the dog once and wounded it during the attack.

When deputies arrived, they found four victims with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Deputies say none of the injuries was life-threatening.

The two adults who were injured told police that two juveniles were horse-playing in the house when the dog became aggressive.

When one of the adults tried to verbally command the dog to stop, the pit bull attacked one of the owners.

Each of the family members were bitten when they tried to stop the attack.

The dog was picked up by Lafayette Parish Animal Control, according to the Sheriff's Office.
