AUSTRALIA -- Police have seized a dog suspected of mauling a toddler in Sydney's south this morning leaving the boy with facial injuries.
Witnesses have told police the toddler was bitten by a Rottweiler that was tied up out the front of a shop on Belmore Road in Riverwood just after 10am today.
The dog and owner had left the scene before police arrived, however the owner has since been identified and an investigation is underway.
The boy is in a stable condition in the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The dog has been impounded.
