UNITED KINGDOM -- A young boy who was viciously mauled by a dog while he was out playing yesterday has returned home this morning.
Cameron Lynch (10) was with friends near his grandmother’s house, at Drumalee in Dublin, when he was attacked by a husky.
He suffered injuries to his face and was rushed to Temple Street Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. His mother Jacqueline today told independent.ie that Cameron, who is a child model, was lucky not to lose an eye.
“The doctors said that if one of the cuts was half a centimetre higher, his eye would be gone,” she said. Ms Lynch said that her son was in a lot of pain, but was recovering at his home. He will have to return to the hospital on Monday to get 50 stiches removed.
The dog involved in the attack had no history of aggression. He was put down following the incident.
