Child injured in Steelton dog attack

PENNSYLVANIA -- The owners of a dog that attacked an 8-year-old boy in Steelton will be cited for several dog law violations, police said.

Borough police said Dawn Wright and Steven Vujasinovich are the owners of a pit bull that crawled under an opening in a fenced yard Tuesday evening and attacked the child in the 700 block of South River Alley.

Police said several children were playing and riding their scooters in River Alley when the dog escaped, charged the boy, and began biting his face and lower leg.

A neighbor immediately intervened by pulling and punching the dog until it let go of the child, police said.

The boy was treated at the Harrisburg Hospital emergency room for severe bite wounds.
