Dog Found Abandoned In Stifling House

INDIANA -- Warsaw Police were called to 857 Oak Brook Place on Aug. 7, for an animal complaint.

Upon checking the house, officers found it to be empty, expect for a dog barking inside.

Information from the property management company, Forest Park, found that Chad M. King, 41, had moved out. The officers gained entry and found the temperature inside to be at 94 degrees. The house was also noted to be in poor condition with animal feces in trash bags in the house.

The dog was left without food or water inside the house.

WPD contacted King, who said his vehicle had broken down and he had not been able to return to the house for the last 2 days.

Animal control took custody of the dog and WPD completed charges for animal cruelty. King was arrested on Aug. 30 on the Class A misdemeanor charge. His bond was fixed at $750 cash. No initial court date has been set.
