Firefighting first as crew rescues pet frog from flames

TEXAS -- Firefighters doused the flames at a North Texas house – and made sure its lone resident didn’t croak.

The Fort Worth crew, sent to a blaze in Westworth Village, searched the house and found no people while bringing the blaze under control.

Then the owners’ daughter, Jamie Wilson, arrived and asked firefighters to look for a missing occupant – the family frog.

Intrepid firefighter Craig Tipton hopped back inside, located the unscathed pet amphibian in its glass container and reunited it with its relieved owner.

Battalion chief Richard Harrison said firefighters have saved many dogs and cats, but it was the first time he recalled a frog rescue.
