Police arrest Mesa woman on charges of animal cruelty

ARIZONA -- A Mesa woman has been arrested after her blind and diabetic dog was found starving.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Wendy Darlene Davis, 44, admitted that she had never taken Shelby to a veterinarian and also admitted to knowing that Shelby was suffering.




 

Shelby, a female pit bull mix, was taken by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Animal Cruelty unit.

Davis was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on one count of animal cruelty.
