Bull terriers maul 6 year-old

SWAZILAND, AFRICA -- A six-year-old boy was mauled by two dogs on his way home from purchasing a copy of the Times of Swaziland.

In an interview, the survivor’s father, said the incident occurred at about 8:40am.

“We were waiting for his return when we heard a neighbour screaming that we must rush him to hospital. When we rushed outside, we were confronted with a scary scene. My son was bleeding profusely,” he said.

He said they were informed that his son was passing by a Nxumalo homestead when two bull terrier dogs sneaked out under the gate.

“The lady said the dogs were dragging him towards a veld. When she tried to stop them, they came for her. She had to use stones to scare them away.

The visibly traumatised boy had bite wounds all over the body.

Worth noting, when the Times Desk visited the scene, one of the dogs managed to sneak out when a member of the family opened the gate.

It chased after some boys who were passing by the homestead.  The boys had to pelt the dog with stones.

The dog then came for the reporter who took to his heels. However, it was later captured by a family member after 30 minutes, and was put on a leash.
