PENNSYLVANIA -- More on a story we first brought you last week, Northstar is finally back home.
It has certainly been a long road for Northstar, and it's far from over.
But his owner says he's home, Happy, and doing great.
WICU & WSEE first brought you details of the disturbing case of animal cruelty, back in August of 2012.
Someone purposely set fire to Northstar, while he was in his Crawford county pasture.
He suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to 40 percent of his body.
We followed his journey of recovery at Ohio State's Veterinary Medical Center.
He was there for just over a year, receiving treatments which included multiple skin grafts.
He then spent the past several months at the A.N.N.A. Shelter's Equine Clinic in Albion. That's where Northstar's owner, Jessie Woodworth, says they've taken great care of him.
Jessi says she's so happy that Northstar is now back home.
Jessie says everyday she has to bathe his wounds and cover them in ointment, but Northstar is well worth the effort.
No arrests were ever made in the case.
