POS arrested after he was filmed punching his dog more than 10 times with closed fist

MISSISSIPPI -- A Rankin County man has been arrested for animal cruelty after a video allegedly showed him beating his dog in his backyard surfaced online.

Jonathan G. Granger was arrested by the Rankin Sheriff's Department Wednesday afternoon and charged with animal cruelty, according to a release from the department.

The sheriff's office went to civil court for an order to keep Rocko temporarily. The owner, Jonathan G. Granger, has five days to contest the ruling and fight to reclaim the dog.

A Rankin County woman says after hearing a dog crying for five minutes she shot video of her neighbor hitting and whipping a dog.

The woman says she asked the man stop and then called police, WLBT reported.

  1. if this is what he does outside in broad daylight, i hate to think about what he does to this dog behind closed doors.
