LOUISIANA -- A 31-year-old Ball woman is accused of throwing three small dogs into a dumpster.
On Friday, deputies responded to the 900 block of LA 1207 in Deville, in reference to caller
witnessing a female allegedly throwing three small dogs into a dumpster on the parking lot of a local business.
A description of the suspect was given and upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a woman fitting the description, identified as Christie Lasyone at the Shell gas station.
The deputy determined Lasyone was the offender and when he began to take her into custody for an outstanding warrant, Lasyone became belligerent and struck the deputy, according to police. The deputy made the arrest without further incident.
The dogs, identified as a brown in color Terrier, brown Dachshund and a tan Yorkie, were recovered unharmed. An RPSO Animal Control deputy arrived on the scene to take custody of the dogs.
Animal Control was able to determine who the owners were and the dogs were returned to them.
Lasyone was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked for 3 counts Cruelty to Animals, Battery of a Police Officer and Resisting an Officer. Lasyone remains in jail on a $16,000.00 bond.
