INDIANA -- A New Albany woman charged with animal abuse is due in court Monday morning.
Madeleine Cornish, who appeared as a teen mother and high school student on 2010 MTV series Baby High, is accused of abandoning her six-month-old Mastiff puppy in a house for weeks without food or water.
A grand jury indicted Cornish last month on charges of cruelty to animals and tampering with evidence.
Police say in August, the 22-year-old left the animal alone on Ewing Avenue and took off for three weeks leaving him without food or water.
According to Waves 3 News, once Cornish returned to the residence and realized the pup was close to death, she then dumped the bony mastiff on the street instead of trying to save his life.
Benson - who has been renamed Hank - was found wandering the streets and rushed to an animal hospital.
He has since gained weight and his blood levels are returning to normal, after being taken in by a foster family.
Cornish is expected to be arraigned on those charges.
