Connecticut: Reward offered in Meriden dog abuse

CONNECTICUT -- There is a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who severely abused a Meriden dog.

The Maltese Poodle mix named Snowflake was found with a rubber band around her mouth, wondering State Street. She was malnourished and dehydrated. A Meriden Animal Control officer said it was the worse example of animal cruelty he has seen on the force.

Snowflake has extensive injuries that require surgery and recovery time but Meriden police say she is being well cared for.  Meriden police and Animal Control officers thank everyone for their concern and help caring for Snowflake.

An unidentified person has also offered up a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people who abused Snowflake. Anyone with information about who is responsible for this is asked to contact Meriden Animal Control Officers at 203-235-4179.

Additional information can also be found on the animal control’s Facebook page.
