TENNESSEE -- A young child in Sullivan County is recovering after authorities say he was attacked by a dog. It happened Sunday afternoon on Sigman Hollow Road in Bluff City, TN.
Family members told deputies the dog "came out of nowhere" and attacked the four-year-old causing severe injuries to his face. He was taken to Johnson City Medical Center.
The child's father and grandfather were able to get the dog away and tie it up until authorities arrived.
The dog did not belong to the victim's family but had been seen running in the neighborhood. The SBK Animal Shelter now has the dog.
