PENNSYLVANIA -- A Philadelphia police officer was injured Sunday afternoon when a pit bull got loose on a Brewerytown street.
The dog was attacking civilians and officers near 30th Street and Girard Avenue shortly before 1:30 p.m., police said.
Officers discharged their weapons and Tasers at the pit bull. It wasn't immediately clear whether the dog was killed.
At least one officer suffered a dog bite to his right arm. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident was not immediately available. Police said more details would be released as the investigation progressed.
