CALIFORNIA -- Officials offered an $8,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case of a burned dog, investigators said Wednesday evening.
The animal was set on fire while still alive, locked inside a crate. The dog died a short time later.
Sacramento firefighters are investigating the animal cruelty case.
Crews were called to a small fire about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Masonic Temple at 3010 Becerra Way.
When they arrived, crews found the dog locked up and badly burned.
An investigation is underway to find those responsible.
The reward was gathered by the SPCA, the Humane Society, Sacramento County and private donors. It may grow.
