CALIFORNIA -- Two men were sent to the hospital after they were bitten by a dog Sunday afternoon, according to Chula Vista Police Department.
Police and firefighters arrived to the 2400 block of La Costa Avenue around 2 p.m. after reports of two men being attacked by their dog in their own yard, Chula Vista PD said. The dog had began to attack one of the men. The second man tried to pull the dog away and was also bitten.
Both men repeatedly attemped to pull the dog away, police said. Firefighters then stepped in to attempt and restrain the dog with emergency equipment.
The dog was then killed after police said it looked badly injured and in pain.
Both men were taken to a nearby hospital with several injuries from the dog bites.
