A caller informed authorities that there were animals in and around a house that were not being fed or cared for.

When deputies arrived, they could see a dog and numerous cats in the home. Authorities say there was no electricity or heat in the home.
Deputies entered the home to do a welfare check of any residents or animals inside, and discovered dead animals and filthy conditions in the house.
Once inside, they discovered animal carcasses including four dead cats and the skeletal remains of a dog in an upstairs bedroom. The Macomb County Animal Control Division to assist in the investigation.
While investigators were on the scene, the homeowner - Robert Denys - arrived. He told authorities that there had not been heat in the home for well over a month.
Denys also said he was aware of the dead animals in the home. He was arrested and charged with Animal Cruelty. The felony charge could carry a potential 2-year prison sentence.
He was granted a $10,000 personal bond and released.
Denys is expected back in court on March 4.
