Brian L. Howard, Sr., of 611 Erie St., had sex with "Mistico", a 9-year-old female pit bull mix, at his home around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, Fulton police announced.
A visitor at the home walked in on Howard having sex with the dog and called police, Fulton police Sgt. Stephen Lunn said.
The dog is now being cared for at the Oswego City Animal Shelter, Lunn said.
The dog was not licensed with the Fulton Clerk's office, police said.
On Feb. 17, Howard was charged with sexual misconduct and overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, both misdemeanors. He was also cited for having an unlicensed dog.
Howard was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Oswego County jail. He was released from jail on Friday.
