Wichita police release photo of woman impersonating Animal Control Officer

KANSAS -- Wichita police released a photo of a woman impersonating a Wichita Police Department Animal Control Officer.

Police say every animal control officer will have a badge attached to their duty belt.

“Their jacket is not denim, it’s a dark navy blue, it’ll have the WPD badge attached to the left breast pocket area,” said Lt. Steve Kenney, Wichita Police Department. “Everybody on the WPD will have a city identification that has their photograph on it.”

Wichita uses white vans with a City of Wichita emblem on the side to pickup animals.

Identification used by Wichita Animal Control

Police say the woman was using a white single cab pickup at the time of the incidents.

If anyone recognizes the woman, they are asked to contact Lt. Steve Kenney at 316-350-3371.
