CANADA -- Artyom Goncharuk, 27, of Richmond, B.C. is facing animal cruelty charges after he allegedly stabbed his three-year-old Pomeranian dog, Kaylly, 61 times last September.
RCMP was called to Goncharuk's home on Sept. 15, 2014, where Kaylly was found dead.
"Thank goodness that these types of situations involving this level of violence are few and far between," said Marcie Moriarty, chief prevention and enforcement officer for the BC SPCA.
"We investigate up to 8,000 complaints a year of animals in neglect and while, unfortunately, I've seen cases like this in the past, they are the exception rather than the rule."
The Crown has approved two charges against Goncharuk; one count of unlawfully killing or injuring an animal under the Criminal Code, and one count of causing distress to an animal under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in jail, a maximum fine of $75,000 and a potential lifetime ban on owning animals.
Goncharuk is expected to appear in court on April 7. He was released on bail on the condition that he not have contact with animals.

Apparently all this piece of garbage got was a nine month CONDITIONAL sentence and two years probation. I dont knowbwhat they found in the case, but obviously he was found guilty. Stabbing an innocent animal SIXTY-ONE TIMES shows he is CLEARLY a demented son-of-a-bitch, and likely has/will again commited other atrocities on other animals(including people, perhaps).
ReplyDeleteA more fitting sentence wouldve been lethal injection. Or at the very least 25 years in prison. It DISGUSTS me that he was let off so lightly. Im sure he'll get his, but the courts missed one chance for that.
