MASSACHUSETTS -- A loose dog in North Amherst was placed into quarantine after biting a man walking past a Summer Street home Tuesday morning, according to animal welfare officer Carol Hepburn.
The incident was reported at 11:42 a.m. when a man was briefly chased and then bitten by the dog, Hepburn said.
The man’s injuries were minor, although the bite did break his skin, she said.
The dog was identified and a quarantine notice was issued to the dog’s owner. Hepburn said no fines were issued.
