Rockingham County VA believes the value of your beloved cat is $25

VIRGINIA -- A Rockingham County jury found a Grottoes dog not to be dangerous on Monday.

Police and animal control officers say Rocky, a pit bull, killed a cat on Jan. 8 in a Grottoes neighborhood after he escaped from his home.

On March 13, the dog's owner, James Shifflett, was found guilty of allowing a dog to run at large. He received at $25 fine.

After chasing and mauling a terrified cat to death, this pit bull
gets his own Facebook page with nutters demanding 'justice' for him.

On Monday, a jury found Rocky not to be a danger.

Hmm, OK. I invite these jurors to put their pets, their children, their grandchildren and themselves in a room with this dog and see what happens. It's one of those NIMBY stories... these jurors don't care because this dog doesn't live next door to them.

The case has gained a lot of attention in the community. A Facebook page in support of the dog, Justice for Rocky, has more than 1,500 likes.
