George Gonzalez accused of assaulting ex-wife, killing her puppy

TEXAS -- A Houston man is accused of beating his ex-wife and killing her puppy.

George Gonzalez, 38, is facing felony charges of assault, family violence and animal cruelty. He violently assaulted Teresa Cochran and her baby, according to court documents.

Cochran called police on Wednesday, May 13 about 3 p.m. after Gonzalez allegedly attacked her in her home.

Cochran said Gonzalez attacked her by grabbing her neck and choking her until she blacked out.
When Cochran woke up, she was able to get away from Gonzalez and he later left the home.

When Cochran's uncle arrived to the scene, he discovered the puppy crying and not moving. Cochran claimed that Gonzalez was the only one in the house alone with the puppy after the incident. The puppy died 20 minutes after police arrived to the scene, police said.

Police say it's still unknown at this time how Gonzalez injured the dog.
