VIRGINIA -- Police say a Henrico man is facing numerous charges for attacking a woman, a family dog... and even responding police officers.
Officers were called out to a residence in the 3700 block of High Meadow Street earlier this year, after getting a call about an assault in progress. Twenty-two-year-old Dennis Howell was allegedly assaulting a woman with children present.
The family dog attempted to intervene, but police say Howell punched the animal.
Once on scene, officers placed Howell under arrest, but not before they say he punched two officers and pushed another.
As of May 20th, Howell's charges include:
•Domestic Assault
•Malicious Wounding
•Preventing 911 Call
•Animal Cruelty
•Child Endangerment
•Threaten to Bomb/Burn
•Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (two counts)
•Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer (one count -- the officer suffered non-life threatening injuries)
