Long Island cop rescues duckling stuck under waterfall

NEW YORK -- A Long Island police officer has melted the heart of thousands after he rescued a baby duck that had become stuck under a waterfall.

On May 15, a family feeding the ducks at Mill Pond Park in Wantagh noticed a duckling separated from its mother stuck underneath a waterfall. Believing the duck was drowning, the family call 911 to get in touch with animal control.

Police Officer Jason Kogan responded to the scene, and carefully walked over the cement wall to the waterfall, climbed down and plucked the little duckling out of the water.

The baby duck was then reunited with its mother and family, that were nearby.
