Florida: Man arrested on suspicion of beating and injuring friend's cat

FLORIDA -- A man was arrested Friday night on charges of beating and torturing his friend's cat earlier this week, police reports state.

Officers first responded Tuesday to a Saratoga Springs home of a woman who said she caught the suspect, Jordan Lindquist, abuse her cat on a “nanny cam.”

Police reports state the woman installed the camera because she suspected her cat was being abused.

The cat had been to the veterinarian’s office multiple times, accruing hundreds of dollars in vet bills because of injuries sustained from abuse, arrest documents state.

Police reports state that the video showed Lindquist, 19, close the blinds to the room the cat was in before grabbing it by the tail from underneath the bed.

As the cat hissed and shrieked, Lindquist punched the cat multiple times in the head “with extreme force.” He then threw and slammed the cat on the floor.

Officers who watched the video reported they’re surprised the cat is alive.

Lindquist was arrested Friday night and booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of one third-degree felony count of animal cruelty.

The woman stated Lindquist was living with her and her family in the home at the time of his arrest.
