WEST VIRGINIA -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is investigating a case of animal abuse and neglect on U.S. 250 outside of Cameron.
The incident is reportedly happening on the Midcap property, where officers found nine dead animals in various stages of decay. Some of the animals were skeletons, while others have been dead for a few months. They also found seven animals alive, but three of them were reportedly in bad shape.
Officers were removing the animals from the property on Thursday night. They executed a search warrant and discovered the cases of abuse and neglect.
The animals involved appear to be horses and cattle. Charges are expected to be filed in the case, and additional information should be released on Friday.
