MASSACHUSETTS -- A Quincy resident faces animal cruelty charges after leaving two dogs in a car for more than an hour, officials said.
Mo Liang, 27, was charged with two counts of animal cruelty after firefighters freed two small dogs from a car parked in front of T.J. Maxx in Granite Plaza Shopping Center Tuesday, Quincy Police Captain John Dougan said.
Police received reports of the dogs trapped inside a black Mazda with the windows rolled up at 11:50 a.m., Dougan said.
Officers tried to find the owner, but were unsuccessful.
They rescued the dogs and took them to a nearby animal shelter. The animals were lethargic from the heat, but did not suffer any other effects, Dougan said.
